" I would love a space that is warm and welcoming, that really just feels like home"

TEXTURE & MATERIAL INSPIRATION
The client's preference included rich textures and muted tones, with an appreciation for textiles and a restrained approach to color. Their primary aspiration was to achieve a design that imbued a homely ambiance.

In a delightful collaboration, I had the privilege of designing a residential haven for a newly retired couple with a deep appreciation for the finer things in life. The project's focal point was the kitchen and entertaining area, intended to seamlessly host expansive Italian family gatherings that hold special significance. Guided by the wife's culinary passion and the husband's photography pursuits, the design concept embraced both practicality and aesthetics. Their desire for a space to exhibit cherished photographs harmoniously intertwined with the need for functional kitchen enhancements, as the previous layout fell short in this regard.
Embracing the couple's affinity for understated hues and tactile experiences, the design palette was orchestrated to harness the power of texture and natural materials. The overarching objective was to craft an enduringly warm and inviting atmosphere that encapsulated the true essence of 'home'. The existing curved wall, a distinctive architectural feature, posed a creative challenge that I met head-on, striving to complement its originality while ensuring the new design aligned with practical functionality. The result was a space where the couple's passions, heritage, and aspirations converged, producing an environment that resonates with their shared journey.
